Floyd Patterson Lifetime Achievement Award

Ed is 76 years old and has five Daughters, he was a widower until 2008 when he remarried and resides in Gastonia, NC.

His accomplishments:

  • 8 years President of the North Carolina Amateur Boxing Federation
  • 4 years as Chairman of the North Carolina Junior Olympic Boxing Division of the NCABF
  • Nationally certified as Referee/Judge by the United States Amateur Boxing Federation
  • Refereed and Judged:

  • 6 National Championships
  • 2 National Junior Olympic Championships
  • 1 USA-Canada Event
  • 1 Eastern Olympic Trials
  • 5 All Marine Corp Championships

Was a member of the United States Amateur Boxing Federation Board of Governors which was the Regulatory Group over Amateur Boxing including the selection of the USA Olympic Boxers. Was Tournament Director for:

  • 1 National Junior Olympic Championship
  • 4 North Carolina State Championships
  • 2 Gastonia Golden Gloves
  • 8 Gastonia PAL-VFW Tournaments

Served as Manager of the USA Team at the USA vs Canada bouts held in Nova Scotia. Established a system and clinics to certify NC officials for North Carolina events. Ed is well deserving of this most outstanding award.
